Food Bank Service
Coordinator: Carlos and Colette Carreiro
Ministry’s Brief History: As a member agency of Daily Bread Food Bank, St. Ann’s Food Bank has been providing service to Torontonians since February 2005. The Food Bank consists of a management and volunteer team that contributes their time, effort, and gifts towards its operation.
Purpose/Goal:
To assist those in need within our parish and surrounding area bearing witness to our Christian faith in actions.
St. Ann’s Foodbank helps people who are in need of food. The dedicated volunteers helped out in organizing the food distribution on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Every week we serve more than 180 people.
We receive generous donations from the community, schools, and from the Daily Bread, Second Harvest, St. Francis Table, and Bridgepoint HealthCare. We continue to organize the Christmas luncheon.
We reorganized the Food Bank Distribution Room for better organization. Hall flooring was helpful for a better environment
