First of all, the Nutri-Centre LaSalle (NCL) was conceived and created in 1999 to address the growing needs related to poor nutrition among people who are forced to obtain their food from food banks.

Subsequently, in the year 2000, NCL initiated educational cooking activities upon its inception. Indeed, the development of means to eat healthily on a small budget, the discovery of new or unfamiliar foods, empowerment, and food education are always at the heart of the organization's actions.

Five years later, in November 2005, the organization Éco-Jardins requested that NCL merge with their organization. At that time, the concept of "from garden to plate" truly comes into play. Thus, the production of vegetables, herbs, and fruits grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides is added to the diversity of services offered by NCL.
