MISSION
The Federation of Haitian Regional Associations of the Diaspora of Quebec and Canada (Farehd) is a charitable organization aimed at alleviating poverty for individuals in difficult situations by providing essential goods, support, guidance, and training. Its secondary area of intervention is to support and carry out projects in Haiti to alleviate poverty in disadvantaged communities and schools.
MANDATES
Alleviate poverty by providing essential goods for life, including food, housing assistance, clothing, and shoes, to the underprivileged.
Promote youth education by offering homework assistance services as well as extracurricular activities, particularly of an artistic and cultural nature, enabling them to develop the skills necessary for academic success.
Address and prevent specific issues faced by youth, families, and seniors by offering workshops, conferences, and seminars on subjects such as food security, mental health, violence, and academic success.
Provide instruction and necessary guidance to needy immigrants and refugees, including language courses, job training, job search programs, translation services, and information programs on Quebec territory, subject to the Private Education Act (RLRQ, chapter E-9.1) and its regulations.
Promote Francophonie through training and knowledge and skill transfer.
Promote education by providing school materials, books, and other educational resources to school-aged children, as well as by improving and repairing primary and secondary school infrastructure in Haiti.
