COCLA is a social development-oriented organization that believes in the driving force of collective mobilization to increase each individual's sense of power over their own community. Mobilization and social innovation are not an end in themselves. They are multiplier tools in the service of the community, around a specific cause.
COCLA has defined its objectives and actions to work with the community. Indeed, we can observe that hundreds of families are living in financial precarity. COCLA proposes a collective solution by relying on collective intelligence, educators, volunteers, community organizations, professionals, managers, self-employed individuals, merchants, businesses, and elected officials.
COCLA has decades of on-the-ground experience in community life. COCLA has found avenues for solutions to create revenue streams to continue its mission. Currently, COCLA has several social economy initiatives that benefit the community, such as the FOGO Restaurant, the Harvest community grocery store, and Nutricocla.
